Featured Wines

2004 Rockbare, Chardonnay
McLaren Vale, Australia
“The gorgeous 2004 Chardonnay exhibits copious fruit and citrus characteristics in its medium-bodied, zesty, fresh personality. I consistently enjoy the wines from Rockbare, a large all estate winery in South Australia. Their reds and whites tend to be pure, fragrant efforts with crisp acidity as well as loads of fruit, all presented in an elegant style.  This is a stunning effort and one of the best Australian chardonnays I have ever tasted.  91 points”. – Robert Parker
$10 Glass

2003 Kangarilla Road, Zinfandel
Langhorne Creek, Australia
“One of my favorite McLaren Vale wineries, Kangarilla Road offers very realistic prices for the quality of their wines. Substantial and rich, but still elegantly styled is the fig, fruit cake, black cherry, and pepper-scented 2003 Zinfandel from Langhorne Creek. Heady, well-made, and pure, it should drink well for 5-6 years.” – Robert Parker
$9 Glass

2002 Brokenwood, “Cricket Pitch Red”
South Eastern Australia
“A knock-out red wine bargain is the 2002 Cricket Pitch Red, a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Shiraz aged in neutral American and French barrels for 18 months. Sweet, peppery, black currant aromas intermixed with notions of smoke, licorice, and damp earth are followed by impressive fruit on the attack as well as the mid-palate. The velvety finish reveals surprising persistence.” - Robert Parker

Smith Woodhouse “Lodge Reserve” Ruby Port  $6
Lluscious, intense dark and red Port, having the benefits of wood maturation while retaining the youthful fruit flavour one would expect in a young Vintage Port.

Smith Woodhouse 10 Year Tawny Port $8
Aged Tawny is perhaps the most versatile Port style and is appreciated for its delicacy, complexity and harmonious balance.

Smith Woodhouse LBV Port 1992 $10
This is a selection of some of the finest quality wine of a single year, bottled, like Vintage Port, without fining or filtration, but after four years rather than two years in the wood. The extra wood age softens the wine and leads to an accelerated ageing in bottle.

Smith Woodhouse Vintage Port 1985 $12
Vintage Port is aged in oak casks for two years before being transferred unfiltered to the bottle, where it has the potential to mature for decades.

2000 Alvear Sherry, Fino en Rama, Spain  $6
It exhibits a medium straw color, wonderful intensity, elegant, honeyed characteristics, and hints of fruit as well as oak.
